Mammoth Cave National Park Holds Teacher Workshops

Mammoth Cave National Park Environmental Education Program held four overnight teacher workshops in conjunction with The Friends of Mammoth Cave National Park (Friends). The workshops were funded through a State Farm Good Neighbor Citizenship Education grant of $6,000 which was received by Friends at the beginning of 2020.

Mammoth Cave National Park Suspends Tours, Closes Visitor Center Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Mammoth Cave National Park will temporarily suspend all cave tours and close the Visitor Center until further notice beginning Wednesday, March 18th. Campgrounds and trails, as well as restrooms adjacent to the visitor center will remain open. Today, the park will offer an Extended Mammoth Passage tour, as a transition to the temporary closure.

An AmeriCorps NCCC team is hosting a community service day with Mammoth Cave National Park (NP) and Friends of Mammoth Cave (FOMC) as part of the National Park Service’s commemoration of the 400 years of African American history in the United States. Volunteers are needed to help clear a pathway to cemetery prepare for the installation of a large granite memorial.

“On December 7, 2019 volunteers young and young at heart joined forces under the umbrella of the Friends of Mammoth Cave National Park for work in the Bransford Cemetery. The goal for the day was to work on a 1600 foot long path to the cemetery, to clean it up, learn some history, have fun, and not get hurt.”
